Frequently Asked Question

What are the age requirements for my child to participate?

There will be 3 house leagues in 2007 playing season;
11 years and younger; for boys and girls; born 1996-1997
9 years and younger: for boys and girls; born 1998-1999
7 years and younger; for boys and girls; born 2000-2001
All players must play with in their appropriate age level or above.

Will I be required to buy equipment, and if so, what?

Your registration fee includes a complete uniform (jersey, shorts and socks) and a team picture, so we recommend that you only purchase shin guards and cleats. Beyond the items noted above, there are no other required pieces of equipment. Other items such as equipment bags water bottles are also commonly seen items on the soccer pitch.

What are the  rules on the soccer field?

The players must rotate through the positions. The time clocks held by referees will signal 8 minutes of elapsed time to allow coaches to change their players' positions. A player cannot be in the same position for two consecutive 8 minute time periods. This means the players playing forward must come off the field or be moved to defense or goal.

Is there a code of conduct and what is it?

The player will respect and tolerate teamates and opposing players. The Player will play fair and cooperate with Coaches and Referees. The Player will be self disciplined and control anger (check out players , parent and coaches rules for good conduct).

How long is the season?

Our season runs from about mid-May  to the end of August with the Cup Day on a date to be announced later in the season.

Where will the practices and games be held?

The games and practices will be at the Corktown Park, on the corner of Ferguson Avenue South and Young Street in Hamilton, Ontario.

How often will practices be held?

Games will be played once a week, and the dates and times for the remaining 2007 are as follows:
Tuesdays 11 and under July 31 August 7 August 14 August 21
Wednesdays 9 and under August 1 August 8 August 15 August 22
Thursdays 7 years old and under August 2 August 9 August 16 August 23
Practices will be scheduled for Mondays and Friday evenings.
The final practice times and schedules will be agreed upon by individual coaches and players' parents.
